Ecueil, a small village located ten minutes SouthWest of Reims on the " Montagne de Reims ", is easily recognizable by it's Church higher off centered in an amphitheater made of vineyards separating Chamery and Villedommange in a Belvedere.
Ecueil is where the five generations of Brugnon have been living working and keeping jealously their Secret Recipe of Champagne. It's a place where Alain Brugnon welcomes you to come, visit and meet. He likes to keep a special atmosphere around Champagne.
The vineyards of Champagne M.Brugnon are spread out across the Montagne de Reims, in Ecueil, Rilly La Montagne and Mont Saint Père in the Vallée de la Marne.
To make Champagne, winemakers use three varieties of grapes Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay which they plant on a soil that contains chalk, sand and clay. The Chalky soil is ideal for champagne wine. It absorbs water during the winter and gives it back to the vine's roots during the summer. The same way around, it absorbs heat during summer to give it back in winter.

• 3ha of Pinot Noir in Ecueil, planted on Marl and siliceous Sands inherited from Alain's Father ;
• 1ha of Chardonnay in Rilly La Montagne, inherited from the maternal side of Alain on outcropping chalky grounds ;
• 4ha50 of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir in Mont Saint Pere vineyard who come from the visionary ideas of his parents in the 70's.

In the Brugnon Family, since 4 generations, assembling the soils has been a constance and a necessity. Wines from Ecueil assure their quality by the assembly of Pinot Noir from Ecueil, major wine used in the assembly, completed by two other soils, Pinot Meunier in Mont Saint Père and Chardonnays in Rilly La Montagne. Alain composes his wines by taking into account the sensorial specificities of each wines, which is what makes the difference and shows Champagne Brugnon's particular balance and what Alain Brugnon brings to it.
The knowledge of assembling associated to the growth of the wine older than 3 years in a Cave participates to it's unique taste.

La vendange 2010 a fait suite à un mois d’août très pluvieux, et seuls nos raisins blancs sont arrivés à maturité en excellent état. Il convenait donc de les mettre en valeur.
